Three Pathways to a High School Equivalency Diploma
Didn't complete high school? You may have more than one option.
There are three pathways that may help you work toward a High School Equivalency Diploma. The right option depends on your previous education, testing history, and individual circumstances.
GED®
The GED® is one pathway to earning a High School Equivalency Diploma.
CTTC does not currently administer the GED® exam. However, if you have previously taken GED® tests at another location, your previous testing may still be useful. Talk with us about what you have already completed before assuming you need to start over.
HiSET®
CTTC offers the HiSET® exam as another pathway to a High School Equivalency Diploma.
Adult Education instructors can provide individualized instruction to help you strengthen your skills and prepare for the required HiSET® assessments.
Oklahoma Career Readiness Diploma
The Oklahoma Career Readiness Diploma is a new pathway for adults age 21 and older that combines high school equivalency with career preparation.
Depending on your circumstances, qualifying requirements may include a combination of:
- Previously earned high school or eligible college credits
- TABE assessment scores
- GED® scores
- HiSET® scores
Participants must enroll in an Adult Education and Family Literacy program and complete a minimum of 12 instructional hours.
You May Already Have Some of What You Need
If you've attended high school or college, taken GED® or HiSET® assessments, or completed other qualifying requirements, don't assume you have to start from the beginning.
Our Adult Education Program Coordinator can help you determine what may apply and what steps you need to take next.

Enrollment
Students take an assessment when enrolling to help us target their greatest areas of need. A student that is 18 or older can enroll based on class availability. Students ages 16 and 17 must complete a release form and have it notarized by their high school.
